Bail Out

I was browsing through this site and found the list of weird dresses. One image was a of a dress made from a phone book. As a makeup artist and photographer I'm always looking for killer fashion shoot ideas. So another photographer friend of mine and I decided to expand on the paper dress idea and create one made of CASH. Yes, real US Dollars...aprox $5000 in 20's, 10's, 5's, and 1's. The hat alone is about $500. Modeled by Jennifer Fuller. Photo by Sabrina Cayne

World's Expensive and Historical Marriage ever - 'Royal Wedding'

The Royal Wedding
Prince William & Catherine Middleton

LONDON, ENGLAND - APRIL 29: Prince William exchanges rings with his bride Catherine Middleton in front of the Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams inside Westminster Abbey on April 29, 2011 in London, England. The marriage of Prince William, the second in line to the British throne, to Catherine Middleton is being held in London today. The marriage of the second in line to the British throne is to be led by the Archbishop of Canterbury and will be attended by 1900 guests, including foreign Royal family members and heads of state. Thousands of well-wishers from around the world have also flocked to London to witness the spectacle and pageantry of the Royal Wedding.

Britain’s current economic situation, a $70million long bill, for a wedding that will be attended by almost 2000 guests, still seems pretty stupendous. Putting this total cost in perspective, Chelsea Clinton’s wedding in June last year cost only around $5million.

 The costs for:

Security Cost:  Approximately $33 million

Floral Display Cost: Around $800,000

Kate Middleton’s Wedding Dress Cost: between $300,000 to $450,000

Cake Cost: Approximately $78,000

Other Costs: $63,000

Total Costs: $70 million

10 Facts you Didn't Know about Living in Outer Space

During one day you will experience 16 sunrises

1. During one day you will experience 16 sunrises

The sun rises and sets every 90 minutes in low Earth orbit, making it really hard to sleep well due to the absence of normal day/night cycles. To counteract this, ISS administrators set astronauts' schedules on a 24-hour, Earth-based timetable to keep their activity as grounded as possible. The clocks onboard the ISS are set to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), about halfway between Houston, Tex., and Moscow. To keep astronauts on that schedule, Mission Control sends wake-up calls to shuttle missions. They typically play music, which is either requested by an astronaut or an astronaut's family member. Astronauts on the ISS, on the other hand, wake up with the help of an alarm.

2. You will grow taller

You will grow taller

India Vibrant Reds

Colour Culture Red History India Society

Always present in Indian's main religious, personal and public life, red is a symbol of celebration, joy, good fortune and passion. In fact, the colour red is a staple in wedding cerimonies. In them, red reigns: the bride's hands and feet are decorated with colourful henna tatoos, the silk used in the garments is red, usually embroidered with gold strings, the fire - the centre of the wedding ritual - is spiked with products that turn it reder and finally, the sindoor, a red powder that symbolizes the blessing and prosperity in a marriage is applied to the bride's hair parting. If marriage and sex have a prominent place in Hindi culture, nothing is more revealing.

World's Cooles Money

"American money," in the words of Talking Heads frontman David Byrne, "is the ugliest money in the world." Every note is the same color and size, making for a particularly monotonous currency. Here are some more imaginative notes from around the world.

Australia was the first to make its legal tender out of plastic polymers, which last four times as long as conventional notes and provide much greater security against counterfeiting. Yet they are still recyclable when retired from circulation. A transparent window and a raised printing process called intaglio allow blind people to feel the difference among the denominations.

The U.S. dollar is widely accepted as Cambodia’s currency, but folks use riels for amounts smaller than $1. With its depiction of Angkor Wat on the front and the Kizuna Bridge over the Mekong (signifying friendship with Japan) on the back, the 500-riel note is practically a postcard. And since the exchange rate (5,000 riels to one U.S. dollar) makes this note worth about 10 cents, it’s cheaper than buying one.

Asarco's open-pit Ray Mine in Arizona is so rich in copper that water sprayed on its dirt roads to keep down the dust instantly turns green as the ore oxidizes. If you stand at the bottom of the mine, which covers more than 50,000 acres, and look up at its high, tiered walls, you travel back in time to the top shelf, where the first cuts were made a generation ago by men with picks and shovels. Here at the bottom, though, the world's largest wheel loader--the LeTourneau L-2350--gulps 75 tons in a single bite.
